Hey again, Jim. Just finished watching it for free on Tubi with commercials which provided brief respites from the horror. Now I need to have a change of pace for the rest of my day.
I think the following sums much of it up rather well: Ghandi: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians They are so unlike their Christ." There are some exceptions whom I have met, Bill Coffin, Henri Nowen, MLK, Jr. Dan and Phil Berrigan and others. Did not meet Thomas Merton but would include him among the stalwarts.
Many have no understanding of the interpretations from original Hebrew and Greek for their Holy Bible, accept what others tell them, blind acceptance because of, you know, authority.
Good to hear from you, Bill. My dear Mum attended a Catholic boarding school (the cheapest way for her mother to send her girls away). She kept a healthy distance from religion later, although once dabbled in Christian Science with a good friend. I come by my skepticism naturally.
Thanks, Katharine. I will have to check it out. There is also a powerful and scary documentary about Christian Nationalism called "Bad Faith."
I’ll fortify myself at teatime, then look for that movie. Not too close to bedtime, though. Thanks, Jim.

I believe that was one of Ghandi’s best quotes. It also sums up many of the Bible-thumbing holy-rollers I run across. Hypocrites all.
Thumbing and thumping, both words are accurate.

Lovely quotes, Gary. If I ever discuss the subject with anyone, it’s good to have authorities to cite.
Thank you, Katharine!!
And thank you, Perry, for spelling my name the way I do.
I would wish a closer connection to you!
I think it is an offer that I was not expecting...
Enjoy!
