As a long-time hoarder, I have started with the clutter that accumulates on my desk. It's a chore that never seems to get finished but I think I am making some progress.
Hey, Don A. Progress, not perfection as we say. I just committed to a friend that I would get the top of my piano cleared off so I can play some scales on New Year’s Day. A worthy goal, I think.
As usual, Katharine, very nice postíng. I am in awe of your ability to remain positive and optimistic. On another suject, if you are not liking the Steve Jobs biography, I recomienda skipping the one on Musk. It will make your head explode! Musk is a liar and a hypocrite, and David Isaacson makes it very clear, but the part that made me angry was that Mr. Isaacson let himself be played by Musk an included “facts” that at best are suspect. Happy New Year!
Yes, Irma. I’ve done a bit more research and honestly am overwhelmed by the different versions of Musk’s life. And I’m creeped out by his relationship with his mother (who seems sketchy also) and the story of his father. The soap opera continues . . .
Sounds like a healthy senior there... I walk 3 miles a day... dare I mention San Diego CA? Our house looks like a used bookstore. I've written 50 or so of those... I was walking 5 miles a day but then too tired to do any writing, reading, or sitting with wife & cat (K-A-T). Oh, and my desk & h ome office look like a broom closet. A dear friend of mine, a fellow author in Canada, calls it "being in my happy place." Amen to that. I'm there right now, typing atcha, Katharine & friends...
At 75, I'm all too conscious of friends & family we've lost--some many years ago who should have lived much longer. Bottom line, I'm at that stage in life where I am thankful for every day, every hour...every foot step, every brain cell...
I admire you decluttering. I'll do it if I ever move. And as to the New Year: I'm hoping for a "survivable" 2025 for all of us. I can't feel more hopeful than that at this point in our country. Stay safe and warm. All my best.

Thanks for reading, John. Let’s all enjoy our lives as best as we can with what we have. Love the California coast!
