Interesting point, Jim. I remember years ago my daughter wondering why on earth I was enjoying a very thick book about the origins of AIDS. My Mum was a voracious reader and I have fond memories of her being so engrossed that it would take her ages to realize I had asked her something.

I often share your mum’s behavior when I enter a room of thought where I close the door and pull down the shades.

Remembering the phrase “you are what you eat,” after reading this post I wondered if some, not all, are what they read.

Some days, I stick to the list when shopping for groceries. Yesterday I almost completed it but there was only one HUGE bag of pie and pastry flour so I passed on it. Then I went into grazing mode and spotted a small package of chicken thighs and another small package of thinly sliced boneless pork chops. When I got home, I split them both up and put them in the freezer downstairs. I also splurged on 2 large Crunch bars to keep in my desk drawer for emergencies.

Oh, Don A. I’m back from shopping and actually found those slim cut pork chops as well as some shaved beef (already had chicken in freezer). Both packages were reduced price and I’ll divide them up and put them in the freezer baggies I saved. My chocolate supply had been replenished yesterday at Ocean State Job Lot. Thank you for reading my ramblings.
