So it turns out that I was finally able to get the stump of the tooth that broke taken out on Thursday afternoon. Let me tell you, that was the most painful medical procedure I have ever withstood. And that includes giving birth and having a breast removed. In fat, I screamed in agony so loudly, I think my readers in England would have heard me. Anyway, here’s an interesting fact. The numbing shot didn’t seem to take too well, and I ended up having four of them in total. But the root of the tooth was infected and the dentist later told me that the bacteria can affect how the numbing medicine works. I have confirmed with my sister that she too had agony when she had a similar procedure when she got an implant. The dentist mentioned that the root was “still hot” which I guess explains the sharp agony. All in all, I am still taking some pain meds and antibiotics for the infection. And I haven’t really been able to eat a regular diet. Luckily I had a lot of unsweetened applesauce cups and OWYN protein drinks, so I’m muddling through. Just writing about it has my face throbbing more—did I mention that I now look like a chipmunk with his food stored on the right side?
But enough about me (even though this Substack is all about me actually). Lying around watching the news unfold and realizing that political affairs are even more painful than the hot root has put things in perspective. Wake up everyone and fight for Ukraine! Remember when this invasion started and we were all waving Ukrainian flags and hollering Slava Ukraine. Our current Commander-in-Chief has no clue about world affairs and he is selling us all down the drain to the Russian dictator. We must continue to stay in the streets and peacefully hold the line against this autocratic regime taking over our democratic republic.
And I have to stop now and get the ice pack on my cheek. Thank you to my family and friends who have carried me through the pain. As my very astute lover noted—less talking, more healing.

Oops that is what happens when you are trying to reply on the train on your phone and can't delete:)
I was going to say I am lucky enough not to have had an major dental surgery. It is definitely good that you took care of it though as infection can rapidly go systemic.
Take care of yourself as always:)
