Happy birthday, Katharine! You also share a birthday with my grandson Gregory. Welcome to the 80’s Katharine. I hope I am around to welcome you to the 90’s!
Brought my mom’s ashes back to her birthplace, Edinburgh in 2022, she was 94 almost 95. Tough as nails, I have inherited her grit which is needed more than ever, in light of our fight to retain our democracy. Who knew that 9 years into retirement I would no longer be planning on returning annually to mom’s beloved Scotland but instead tracking the next protest and making signs.
I really enjoyed your story, it drew me in instantly. I admire people who have the gift of gab and can put it to paper. I do converse easily with strangers. There is so much to learn from people’s stories but I have to check myself because I can run away at the mouth.
Very sad. Retirement was suppose to be the reward for working 50+ years. Nine years in and my hello to cancer the first retirement year (still NED) and my husband’s diagnosis of PD by the second year (coping and still vertical) was not as frightening as what is happening to our country’s democracy.
Katharine, I look forward to reading more of your posts. Slainté

Thanks, Irma. I hope so too. One day at a time . . .
Happy birthday Katharine. same day as my late mother's. She would have been 112 today!
Great to hear from you across the pond again, Richard. I’m still thinking of bringing Mum’s ashes to scatter in Mill Hill.

Thanks for reading, DEO. Sad to be in this plight, eh?
