Continuing my theme of Sunday posts, I remembered the Melina Mercouri hit referenced in my title. As I recall, she was a beautiful woman in Greece who made her living in the oldest profession (I refuse to denigrate sex in any way). The details of the story escape me now, but the scenery was marvelous and she seemed to be enjoying life. Enough about that before I devolve into a scathing denunciation of the morality police so rampantly evident these days. And I won’t begin to discuss recent world events but would like to refer everyone to the many fabulous Substackers who are grappling with politics and world affairs. I eagerly await Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s twice weekly posts (Monday and Friday mornings), with daily doses of Heather Cox Richardson. I also recently subscribed to Slender Threads by Jim Buie. I think I’ve mentioned before I love The Freedom Academy with Asha Rangappa who also introduced me to Pepperspectives by David Pepper. The subtitle of his Stack says it all: Saving Democracy: A User’s Guide.
Keeping calm and carrying on . . .
Katherine, I remember the delightful "Never on Sunday" as well. It is available on Amazon Prime and clips are on Youtube. It survives pretty well.
