The saying “by the inch, life’s a cinch; by the yard, very hard” is particularly apropos in these tumultuous times. I honestly have to schedule my outrage for certain times of the day and then unplug and go on with my routine.
I do spend a lot of time reading as much as possible from reliable sources. For instance, this week’s issue of The New Yorker has an extremely informative article by Jonathan Blitzer entitled “Enemies of the State: Inside the Trump Administration’s mass-deportation program” which does a very deep dive into the subject including more information about Tren de Arugua and why Home Depot is figuring so prominently. Unfortunately, the unreliable news source of Fox et al. reaches a much wider audience I am afraid.
It seems impossible to me that everything we marched for in the 60’s is being so rapidly dismantled. Of course, technology has a lot to do with that, and unfortunately we are all becoming trapped by our gadgets. One up side of this is that we have the ability to research a topic in depth from home, and if we remember that there may be political bias in various sources, we can hopefully sift through the dross and rely only on scholarly research with footnotes, etc. Or as the current generation puts it, give me the receipts.
I will leave you now as I sit down to read my Sunday paper (which of course is hopelessly out of date by now in this millisecond news cycle), and I will keep the focus on myself for a good part of this day. We must stay strong and resist the creeping fascism being perpetrated by the cult of orange worshippers—who will eventually need deprogramming, I fear. There are more of us than them, however, and I believe that sanity will prevail!

Everything we marched for in the 60's...
YES. To put everything in DANGER without pushback is...well, can't think of a word to sum it up.
I have 2 granddaughters 17 and 22. To have them live in a world where women are back to, if not square one, at least square 2, makes me wish for men to not have VIAGRA. For over 2 thousand years (at least), men have described what women ARE, and expect us to AGREE, or force us to submit to their definition.
Having what men have done is very similar to how, after 40 years the creeping viper is trying to beat us into submission, and define America as a conquered country.
America held for 250 years, and men couldn't ruin her directly, so they formed a plan to slowly dismantle us milliliter by milliliter. Enjoying what freedom we had, we weren't watching the rustle in the grass, the tsunami that wasn't here yet.
So now, while CONGRESS is frozen with fear for themselves, we watch as they let our freedom, or at least the image of freedom get trampled by testosterone, greed, and hate.
Thank you for listening, knew you would understand.

“I honestly have to schedule my outrage for certain times of the day and then unplug and go on with my routine.” I call it using my compartmentalization skills. Takes constant practice.
