My first solo road trip in ages, so I am late in posting today. But I have to tell you, it was great to be out on the road again. I went from the Submarine Capital of the World here in Connecticut, to the first capital of New York for an overnight and visit to a 94-year-old piano-playing farmer. Then on up to “Hometown USA” (so designated by Look magazine in 1944) to visit my friend Carol. I added a third state by coming home through Massachusetts. I still have my 2016 Clinton/Kaine sticker on my car, and it felt a bit different to venture into unknown territory. But I have to report that all went well; however, I was very surprised to not see any other bumper stickers of any kind on my journey. Have they gone out of fashion?
I also came up with a great idea on the long drive. I am dedicated to saving democracy along with so many other fellow Stackers. And I thought perhaps Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Reich could join forces and barnstorm across the country to give us the “long and the short of it” for preventing a dictatorship.
And now I’m totally knackered, so TTFN.
I like the idea of RR and KAJ appearing together. It would work well with folks born before 1970. It would be great if they were the opening act for Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Then they could follow stadiums with young voters.
Bumper stickers? Not yet. No one is quite sure these will be the candidates : )
