And Now It's Getting Personal
which really hurts
Of course, the political situation in this country has been atrocious in my opinion ever since 2016—although we tried to right the ship for four years in-between (should we call it the interregnum?). Anyway, I have been writing here for the past three plus years, so my horror has been mounting steadily. And now as my title suggests, I have a very personal story connected to the headlines.
New York University Langone Health (commonly known as NYU Langone) is the leading hospital for the treatment known as Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) for the heart irregularity known as Afib. My Afib had worsened to the point that I was having almost daily attacks, which left me unable to function very well. So my electrophysiologist here in Connecticut suggested it was time to try the PFA and because I had lived in the City, I knew that I wanted to go there (plus family nearby). It took an in-person consultation last summer with the leading practitioner, who assured me I wasn’t too old. Then right around Thanksgiving last year, I had the procedure and stayed overnight in the hospital just to be sure. [I wrote about some of the wonderful caregivers in a previous post.]
Now it turns out that the DOJ with nothing better to do than harass medical facilities, has sent a criminal grand jury subpoena to NYU Langone demanding an incredible amount of information concerning what is called Gender Affirming Care. You might be wondering about HIPPA, which was enacted for just such a moment. But the evildoers included in their filing a section detailing why they are not violating it. You cannot make this stuff up, can you?
So ultimately all the records now on file at NYU Langone are potentially available for review by the current cabal. While the specific request is for electronic records of minors, we all know how detailed and specific this work would have to be and potentially rife with errors. I, for one, do not consent to my information being made available to anyone currently employed in this effort.
And now I have to stop again because while the PFA did arrest my Afib, the rest of my heart needs to be soothed. I know that I have unfinished business with what I have been reading to share here but honestly, I have to chill now.

I have often wondered over the last eighteen months and over a previous four year period under the regime, if the federal government collected, digitized, dug through, scanned, read, made lists, scrutinized, reviewed, misfiled and then refound, and threatened individuals, institutions, and state and local governments all for obtaining and creating a centralized detailed database of all gun owners, all gun and ammunition sales, and all people that bought gun and ammunition magazines (because reading, researching, fantasizing and other thought processes equate to real action) in violation of every real, legal, imagined, and pretzel logic definition of a Second Amendment right to the same degree and effort that same regime has done the same to journalists, scientists, educators, gay/lesbian/bi/trans/nonbinary/queer persons, peaceful protestors, environmentalists, medical professionals, and members of the ACLU, SPLC, and NAACP, if those gun and ammunition owners and magazine readers would feel okay with their so-called rights violated.
Those people are so evil and every single republican is complicit with this crap. I have noticed that these people never and I mean NEVER do anything to help people. They are always persecuting at least one 1️⃣ r more groups of people. They are just evil incarnate and I’m sorry it is impacting your health.
