Processing Overload

There are many good sources here on Substack for us all to keep up to speed with the current events. I found world traveler Jim Buie at his Slender Threads to have compiled a great summary. And he shared a very detailed video from the BBC for some additional history. The death of the Supreme Leader of Iran has been confirmed by a weeping broadcaster from that country. But who knows what happens next? [Google tells me that a new leader would be appointed by the Assembly of Experts but I don’t know how many of them have survived.] As my title explains, I’m going to need a reboot today.

And to that end I will make this even briefer than usual. I will read my hard copy Sunday paper, which of course will be hopelessly outdated by now. But I will enjoy holding the paper and turning the pages for as long as I can see to read.

Having lived through the times of many other Middle East conflicts, I do not understand why this one is hitting me so hard. Perhaps because I was hoping to slide comfortably through my dotage?
